How the key competencies help with success

Name: Sam
Date: 27th Feb 2018

WALT - write an explanation
Intro: Have you ever wondered how the key competence could help us become successful learners well that's what this explanation writing will be about hope you enjoy.

I think the key competencies can help by thinking,  now thinking is one of the key competencies and why I choose it is because if you make a mistake you can always rethink it threw, and once you know your correct there should be no mistakes so basically your rechecking what you done wrong and making sure there's no mistakes and that's one of my reasons of how that could help.

My next one Managing self now this is also one of the key competencies and should be able to help be successful. This could help me manage my mistakes and take responsibilities so lets say I got a person in trouble but it wasn't his fault so if you combined thinking with managing self you could rethink your mistakes and take responsibilities so that you're being honest. My next one Relating to others.

Also as you may know it is one of the key competencies called Relating to others and why I choose this is because it's good for friendship and getting to know one another and being simula could also help with being successful because ikn class there should be no fighting or arguing and the teacher will probably be proud, and those are my reasons of how you can be successful hope you enjoyed.

Bay to bay run day

Date: 31st August 2018
Title: Bay to bay run day

Today Rm 7 and the senior students of glen innes gathered together because today was the run from mission bay to st heliers, I was really excited because it was a 3 km run and after we were gonna have some sports fun and sausage sizzles, before anything started we had to go to hall so we can get into our groups and sort our the shirts for each team.

Our team was the brown team and we were going against red blue and the white team, as we lined up we first had to go back to class and quickly put our bags away, as I walked outside I could see how much everyone was excited for the run, so as we arrived on the bus we had to make sure everyone had a seat.

When we arrived we saw some of the police men waiting for us because we were told that there was gonna be a few police running with us

How to play rippa rugby

Name: Sam
Date: 28th June 2018
Title: How to play rippa rugby

Introduction:
Rippa rugby is a easy to play game with 8 players and it is also for young rugby players,I know this because we use to have rippa rugby in the middle block of school and kids loved it, it is non contact which means there are no contacts in the game, it is also a safe game for both boys and girls alike. Best of all it is exciting for all involved, also while the rules are simple it is easy for young rugby players to learn how to play.

How to play:
The game field is 70 metres in length and upto 40 metres wide, Rippa Rugby can be played in basically any open space, The game starts off with an attacking team and a defending team the attacking team must score as much tries past the defending team but the defending team is to make sure that the attacking team gets there flags ripped at least six times.

The object of the game is to score a try by grounding the ball behind or on the opponents’ try line, A try is worth five points. To stop a try being scored the defenders must rip the flag from the belt of the Attacker. This stops the attacker and he must pass the ball. If the attacking team has gotten their flags ripped off their belts six times than that's a turn over to the other team which is now the attackers.

Duration of play.
Where possible the field should be marked with cones or markers so that the players can easily tell the size of the playing field. The ‘try-scoring area’ (in-goal area), should be five metres deep from the try line and clearly marked if possible with cones.

Also the game runs for 20 minutes and then it's half time for 2 minutes if a try is scored than the attacking team earn five points and the defending team gets none but don't worry because their should be plenty of time to get more points and Earn your Victory.
And those are my steps of how to play rippa rugby I hope you’ve enjoyed.

Reading: Worm farm

Name: Sam
Date: 8th August 2018

Volcab:
Hermaphrodites
Dilute
Invertebrate
Why do they do worm farming?
Compost food:
Manure
Organic materials
Moistier
Oxygen

These help worms do there job.
Worms will not survive for very long in compost if we
are not giving them what they need.
Earthworms take soil and organic materials through their
mouth but they only eat food that is wet not dry such as bread.
If a earthworm loses its tail it could regrow back unless a
important body part has ben cut then it will die.
Worms don't have eyes legs but they do have hearts.
There are 2 types of worms red worms and tiger worms.

My Goals for term 3 2018

Fractions - Maths DLO

Name: Sam
Date: 6th September 2018
WALT: Find out how to explain about the different types of fractions.

There are about 5 different types of fractions such as proper fractions, improper fractions, mixed fractions, whole fractions,  proper fractions is when the numerator is bigger than the denominator, so with improper fractions it's the same as proper fractions except it's opposite so the denominator is bigger than the numerator.
So whole factions are when the denominator and the numerator are the same and both equal to 1.

Example:

Whole fractions         proper fractions improper fractions
              5 = 1                8 = 12 6      = 11
              5                  4 5

So Zero fractions are also one of the fractions but they were only named that because they add up and equal to zero so no matter what they always add up to
zero.  Zero Fractions
Example:       8 = 0

                     0

Holiday story

Name: Sam
Date: 8th Feb 2018
WALT: write a story about our Christmas Holiday.

Success Criteria:
  • I have to use different sentence starters.
  • I have to use adjectives and adverbs effectively.
  • I use capital letters and full stops correctly.
  • I must have a very interesting begging.

It was not very long till Christmas so me and my family were very very busy preparing for the Celebration I don't really like preparing for Special Occasions because i'm always told to do this and that and it just keeps on coming,  but when we are preparing the little kids will have to wait outside just till we're finished, and the big kids had to stay and help prepare. Now i'm sure you should already know why little kids shouldn't be getting in the way and i'm also pretty sure this happens to most of yous who have a very busy families, i'd rather be them then stay in the house and keep getting told what to do.

When we finally finished their was only one thing left to do decorate the Christmas Tree, but I was way to igsausted and fall asleep but my siblings and cousin weren't, they were so excited they couldn't sleep but anyways under the tree were heaps of presents for all the children and some adults and the kids. They were very excited for what they were getting I was too but just too tired.

In the morning on Christmas eve we got bored and it was a beautiful sunny day so we went for a family picnic at the beach. Once we were packed we headed off to the beach, when we arrived there were heaps of people and we were very excited so quickly we ran out the car.

Title: Composting

Writing:
What is composting: Well composting is stuff that helps plants grow better that's when the worms come in, Composting has a lot of nutrients in the soil that comes from your food or fruit scraps the food scraps becomes compost because of the worms, as you put your scraps in your compost bin the worms break them up in there mouths and it than becomes like planting material after your compost is finished it should be time for planting. Composting is good for the environment just like recycling and it also saves money so you don't have to buy compost when you can make it.
Worms are quite important in NZ  as I said about worms in the compost worms help develop the soil that way it helps the plants grow better, worms may not have legs arms or eyes but they can regrow their tail unless it was cut at about 90 degrees, worms only eat food that is damp not dry so while it's making compost if you give it dry foods like meat of course the worms will not eat it they'd rather leave it there to rot. So worms come from a big part of NZ you find them under your bins in the grass or in the dirt a lot of birds like to eat worms so it's best worms stay hidden where they can't be found.
