Matariki is back

 2. What is the special sight you may witness towards the end of May?
The seven stars fall below the horizon and disappear for now.


 3. What are people looking out for to know that the new year is beginning?
A site that goes over the horizon which are the seven stars.


 4. Tell me 6 things you know about Matariki?
It is a maori New year, it's populaterity was increasing year
by year,matariki means little eyes, and 10 years ago NZ people knew
very little about matariki, and matariki is made up of several hundred stars, and
only seven were able to be seen with a naked eye,  And last if
the stars are hard to see separately than a cold lean season will follow.


 5. What are the tales about the stars and the representation of them for the
year to come? Fireworks, hangis, and stuff.


 6. Maori used to ‘preserve birds hinu’. What does the word‘preserved’
mean? Maintaining and saving it to keep it cool.


 7. Can you give me an example of how people often preserve
various
items to date?

Legends say that the stars of matariki are members of te whanau
marama but where taken by their parents.
